Columbus Metropolitan Library Receives 2008 Leader of Literacy Award
The Columbus Literacy Council Leader of Literacy award which is presented annually at the council's Alphabet Attractions fund raiser recognizes exceptional vision and action which dramatically enhances central Ohio adult education learning opportunities. Columbus Metropolitan Library, recipient of the 2008 Leader of Literacy award is dedicated to educational opportunities for all members of the Columbus community. Ongoing support of Columbus Literacy Council and a long history of being open to all people illustrate its strong commitment to the betterment of the community through education.

National Volunteer Week Recognition
In honor of National Volunteer Week, FirstLink recognized community volunteers for outstanding service. CLC classroom tutor and office volunteer, Kathy Moriarity was recognized with a Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her service to Columbus Literacy Council. Kathy is a dedicated volunteer who contributes 36 40 hours of service to CLC each month.
